GREAT
KOREAN WAR AIR FORCE PILLOW COVER

Typical thing sent home by young airmen in training. I love it for
its multiple pictures, the great red lettering “U.S. AIR
FORCE/SWEETHEART”, and in fact that I began my AF career
at this base. From Chanute Air Force Base,
Illinois. Shows WWII and Korean War aircraft. Made so a pillow can
be put inside. Like new. $15

CAPTURED VIET CONG-NVA CARTRIDGE BELTS.

From the Vietnam
War. Had a box of these sitting around storage longer than I can
remember. Definitely saw combat. Excellent O.D. to light olive
canvas with some field grime. Belt is 5 ˝” tall, faced its entire
length with 10 pouches for cartridge clips, 7.62. Each pouch has
closing flap held closed by wood stud pointed at each end, which goes
through web loop. Really stout gear with over-shoulder slings and web
waist straps. Some marked on rear, all a bit different. Looks like
Chinese writing. For SKS & AK. Each...$45
Photos show a
representative sample...that exact one shown is sold.
All are comparable.

PLANE.

x 29" square, including fringe. Light
pink, silk-like material. It
is shown folded into a square of approx. 14 ¾", and was sold that
way. I believe it is hand
colored. It shows a
USAF jet
fighter plane flying over the seaport of Rio De Janeiro.
Excellent overall condition; no tears that I see.
Just needs ironing. A
couple very small, very light water stains, at the edges; really
insignificant. This was found stored with other military related items such
as pennants, pillow covers, souvenir scarves, of varying periods.
$10

Large 3” circular,
heavy brass medal, prox. 3/16” thick. In the original “The Department
of the Treasury/1789” blue box. Exterior rubbed but solid. Front has
portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower and rear has his second inaugural
information for January 20, 1957. Comes with a four sided folded
sheet (U.S. Government Printing Office) that lists the entire history
of Eisenhower, covering 1890 to 1969. This was from
a group of similar medals of presidents
purchased back in the mid 1970’s. $15
7 KWE - FABULOUS,
ORIGINAL JET FIGHTER INSIGNIA FROM THE KOREAN WAR PERIOD.
Click on
thumbnail for a larger view (disregard
the reflections in the glass)
This is the original insignia applied to the vertical
stabilizer of the aircraft.
It appears to be a thick decal or something like it, in full
color.
It is 16" in diameter, and shows an Indian with tomahawk in
one hand, machine gun held in his teeth, and riding a jet engine.
This insignia was applied to a mat backing and framed,
displayed in the office of the commanding officer or ready room.
I'm told it was the insignia of the 185th or 187th
Fighter Squadron, an Oklahoma National Guard outfit.
The name of the character shown was "ENGIN JOE".
Insignia is fine.
Frame has repaired cracks looks like
it fell off the wall during
period of use. Source for this saw actual photos of jets with this
insignia on their tails.
Really neat military aviation item. $150
